This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Juno platform and all associated services. This AUP supplements and is incorporated into the Terms of Service.
1. Lawful use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes related to dental practice management. You must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA, the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and applicable state privacy and consumer protection laws.
2. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the Service to:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam), including SMS, voice calls, or emails that do not comply with applicable consent requirements
- Transmit messages to phone numbers that have not opted in to receive communications from your practice, or to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry (unless an established business relationship exists)
- Access, use, or disclose protected health information in violation of HIPAA or your BAA
- Submit fraudulent insurance claims or misrepresent billing codes
- Impersonate another person, practice, or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or connected systems
- Use the Service to store or transmit content that is illegal, defamatory, threatening, or infringes intellectual property rights
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service outside of documented APIs
- Circumvent any security, authentication, or access-control mechanisms
3. Messaging compliance (Twilio / A2P 10DLC)
If your practice uses Juno's integrated SMS or voice features (powered by Twilio), you must additionally comply with:
- Consent: obtain prior express written consent before sending marketing messages, and prior express consent for informational messages (appointment reminders, recall notices), in compliance with TCPA requirements
- Opt-out: honor STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, and other opt-out keywords within 24 hours and include opt-out instructions in all automated messages
- Identification: clearly identify your practice in all automated messages
- Content restrictions: do not send messages containing content prohibited by Twilio's Acceptable Use Policy, including but not limited to SHAFT content (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco)
- Rate limits: respect carrier-imposed rate limits and do not send messages at volumes that would trigger carrier filtering
- Record keeping: maintain records of consent (including timestamp, method of consent, and the specific consent language presented) for at least 5 years
4. Data and content standards
- You are responsible for the accuracy of all data entered into the Service, including patient records, billing codes, and insurance information
- You must not upload malware, viruses, or malicious code to the Service
- You must not use the Service to process data for practices or entities not covered by your subscription
- You must comply with minimum necessary standards when accessing PHI through the Service
5. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning and request to remediate the violation
- Temporary suspension of messaging privileges
- Temporary suspension of account access
- Permanent termination of access to the Service
Juno reserves the right to determine what constitutes a violation of this AUP. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking enforcement action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or comply with legal requirements.
6. Reporting violations
If you believe a Juno user is violating this AUP, please contact us through the support form with "AUP violation" in your message.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
